Behind the scenes
Receiving mail. Each Temp Mail domain accepts email through standard MX records. A message is checked for size (25 MB maximum) and for a matching mailbox, then stored with its original source so it can be exported later. Mail sent to an address that does not exist yet is held for a few minutes, in case you create the address right after using it.
Detecting codes. The moment an email is stored, our server scans it for verification codes in 15 languages. A detected code shows up as a chip in your inbox and as a one-tap copy button in the email.
Keeping you safe. Emails are displayed inside a locked frame that cannot run scripts. Remote images are blocked until you choose to load them. Attachments are downloaded with safe content types.
Retention. A mailbox lives 24 hours by default (7 days with a password) and can be extended a few times. Emails are deleted after the retention period shown under your address. You can delete a single email, a selection, or the whole mailbox at any time.
Multiple mailboxes. Keep up to 20 mailboxes on one device and switch between them with one tap. Removing a mailbox from a device does not delete it on the server; reopen it later by typing its address.
Exporting <a id="export"></a>. Any email can be saved as .eml, .json, .html or .txt, or printed to PDF. A whole mailbox can be exported as a ZIP of .eml files with a manifest.
Notifications. Turn on browser notifications in the Tools tab to be alerted when new mail arrives while the tab is in the background.
